Overall Purpose
- Ensures strong accounting and reporting of group, including overseeing and monitoring
- an effective control environment and providing sound financial advice to the management team.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, financial statements, as well as making appropriate recommendations.
- Monitor and provide financial analysis and support to the GCFO’s /GDCFO on business transactions and departmental performance.
Main Responsibilities
- In collaboration with departmental staff, manage all the accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of operating financial data of the organisations.
- Ensures that all financial statements are complete, accurate and are compliant to the generally accepted accounting principles and any industry standards that apply to the industry the company is involved
- Managing teams to co-ordinate and deliver on internal and external reporting requirements and ensuring that all reporting requirements are met
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of budgets and financial reporting
- Assist in coordinating the annual audit engagement with both the internal and external auditors, ensuring audit requirements are met in a timely manner
- Monitoring and enhancing compliance controls, structures, and automated processes to ensure effective management of the company’s overall compliance and financial controls are effective and being appropriately applied
- Lead, plan, co-ordinate and manage the work of group accounting team, including the development of their skills & knowledge of team members
Min Qualifications & Experience
Post graduate degree in accounting or ACCA Qualified/ ACA
At least 5 years of experience with a proven strong financial and technical accounting background
Experience in auditing would be an advantage
