Position Summary:
The Accounts Manager oversees the entire accounting team, ensures financial compliance, and supports strategic decision-making. This role involves managing financial operations, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow and optimize resource allocation.
- Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Manage the preparation and submission of statutory reports (VAT, tax, etc.).
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support.
- Assign tasks, review performance, and implement training programs for staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Contribution
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Ensure timely payments and collections while managing credit terms.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
