Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for managing the technical division, ensuring timely recording and effective response to repairs and maintenance of customer equipment in Mauritius and surrounding regions (including Seychelles, Madagascar, Reunion, etc.).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Oversee the technical service division.
- Ensure timely recording and response to repairs and maintenance of customer equipment in Mauritius and surrounding regions.
- Assemble, test, repair, and install gym equipment, diagnosing and fixing malfunctioning parts.
- Order and install required parts.
- Record job details in SAP accounting system; complete a Job Card for all tasks.
- Communicate with clients to schedule appointments and ensure access.
- Follow Job Card instructions accurately and fully before leaving the client site.
- Verify equipment serial numbers on Job Cards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to check for cosmetic damages and notify clients.
- Test equipment to verify working condition and record all faults on the Job Card.
- Re-test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning.
- Have clients sign Job Cards before leaving and provide them with a copy.
- Adhere strictly to company processes, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized support warehouse area.
- Keep the After Sales Week Planner
- Keep the After Sales Week Planner updated with all work details, and provide daily updates to the Controller Administrative Support person.
- Attend daily morning support meetings to submit completed Job Cards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the company vehicle, performing weekly checks.
- Keep an updated daily vehicle logbook and submit a monthly vehicle status report.
- Complete and submit expense sheets to admin.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Manager.
- Comply with company uniform standards.
Qualifications:
- Higher School Certificate
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 -5 years of technical experience
Skills and Competency Levels:
- Proficient in using testing equipment and hand tools
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and parts
- Professional communication skills with clients, staff, and the public
- Effective planning and management of staff and projects
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused approach
- Knowledge of gym equipment
- Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and SAP accounting system
- Experience with electronic job card management through to invoicing
- Valid driver's license
- Fluent in English and either French or Creole
