Sales Assistant – Stainless Steel Jewellery Store

Job Purpose: To assist customers in selecting and purchasing stainless steel jewellery and accessories while providing excellent customer service, maintaining product displays, handling sales transactions, and ensuring the store remains clean and organized. Key duties : • Welcome and assist customers professionally. • Recommend products and promote sales. • Process sales through the POS system. • Handle cash and card payments accurately. • Restock and arrange merchandise displays. • Maintain store cleanliness and presentation. • Conduct daily stock checks and inventory counts. • Assist with receiving and unpacking new stock. • Report damaged or missing items to management. • Achieve sales targets and contribute to store performance. Additional Key Duties: • Perform basic jewellery repairs using pliers, pinch tools, jump rings, clasps, and other jewellery repair equipment. • Assemble and prepare new jewellery collections before display and sale. • Attach tags, price labels, and packaging to new products. • Check product quality and ensure all items meet company standards before being displayed. • Assist in creating attractive product displays for new collections. • Organize and maintain repair tools and workstations. • Report defective items and coordinate repairs or replacements with management. • Assist with stock receiving, sorting, and categorization of new arrivals. Salary: Rs 17,745 – Rs 20,000 per month (depending on experience) + commission

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills: • Minimum Form 4 / SC level preferred. • Previous retail or sales experience is an advantage but not mandatory. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Honest, reliable, and punctual. • Customer-service oriented. • Basic computer and POS system knowledge. • Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and mall trading hours. • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced retail environment. Additional Skills Required: • Good hand dexterity and attention to detail. • Ability to use jewellery repair tools such as pliers, cutters, and pinching/crimping tools. • Experience in jewellery assembly or repairs is an advantage but training can be provided. • Ability to identify product defects and maintain quality standards.
