About the job Digital Transformational Lead

Main Purpose

The incumbent shall be responsible for researching and identifying opportunities for the adoption of innovative/emerging technologies as well as leverage existing technologies to improve business processes and drive digital transformation. He/she will guide and manage the ideation and implementation of new technologies to support business transformation and growth.

Key Performance Areas

1. Engage with key stakeholders and business units, including business leaders, IT teams, and external partners, to gather input, build support, and align innovation efforts with organizational goals.

2. Critically analyse processes and tasks to identify either streamlining possibilities, gaps, automation opportunities or standardisation.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate new ideas and concepts for IT solutions that can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or create new revenue streams.

4. Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation according to determined priorities.

5. Regularly attend demonstrations from suppliers and assess, together with the IT team, the solutions fit.

6. Assist the Group CIO in defining the technical and procurement requirements for the acquisition of new technologies.

7. Prepare presentation of solutions analysis, organise meetings with relevant stakeholders, gather feedback and obtain approvals, and handover approved solutions to the project management team.

8. Participate in project meetings, provide input towards problemsresolution, and ensure that project objectives are met.

9. Recommend applications, business process improvements, upgrades and/or purchases, and identify opportunities for automation and time saving strategies.

10. Look for synergies within our operations from the perspective of complexity, cost, and maintenance activity reduction.

11. Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

  • A recognised degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, Business Transformation
  • Any relevant professional qualifications/certifications.
  • Any higher relevant qualification will constitute a definite advantage.
  • At least 10 years work experience, out of which at least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Substantial experience and track record of using innovation tools and techniques to respond to organisational needs and strategies, generating ideas and delivering solutions.
  • Experience and track record of developing and implementing innovations and organisational change, following through on plans and projects both alone and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working with and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Ability to synthesize multiple information sources and divergent ideas to generate insights.
  • Good understanding of risk, auditing requirements, IT security and data protection
  • Knowledge and experience of project management methodologies
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
