Job description of an Accounts Officer

  • As part of the financial reporting process, to ensure below roles and responsibilities.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, and periodical performance reports, within set deadlines, to be reported to the Accountant and Group Accountant.
  • To ensure proper accounting controls through verifications, recomputations, reconciliations, to ensure correctness and completeness on data inputting.
  • Preparation of financial statements of companies within his/her portfolio, for annual audit, while ensuring a good audit assistance and working with tax advisers.
  • Assist on other reporting such as, (i) budget and resource utilisation, (ii) statutory surveys, (iii) special assignments as may be allocated by the Group Accountant and/or Group Financial Controller.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly and annual statutory returns such as VAT/TDS/APS/CTX.
  • Ensure proper knowledge and update on accounting standards, laws and regulations.
  • As part of Department Management, the Accounts Officer is expected to,Work as a team, with other staffs, to ensure proper timely output,Demonstrate required interpersonal skills within the department and inter-department, and with our stakeholders,
  • Ensure proper coaching of junior staffs.
